World Cup Protests In Porto Alegre, Brazil ahead of Saturday’s Mass Action

Protesters took to the street in Porto Alegre Brazil on Thursday against the hosting of the upcoming FIFA World Cup and possible decisions to raise the cost of public transportation. The protest began in front of the city hall and went through the streets of Downtown with marchers chanting “There Will Be No World Cup”.  36 Cities across Brazil are set to protest the World Cup On Saturday.

BesYGdTCYAERkaq.jpg:large20,000 people are expected to protest just in Sao Paulo, with good reason: 170,000 people are to be evicted from their homes and communities so that the mega constructions for the World Cup can be erected.
