Violence marked the protest against the fare increase of public transport in Goiania, late on Tuesday (28). Military police and students clashed in the Plaza of the Bible, the East Sector University. According to the PM, students set fire to buses and tried to burn a bank.
In the melee, 24 people ended up arrested for vandalism and disobedience. Of this total, 18 adults were taken to the 1st Police District (SD) and 6 minors were referred to the Police Station Determination of infractions (Depai).
“They were with sticks, stones, Molotov cocktails and gasoline,” he told G1 the second head of the PM’s media, Lt. Col. Walter Caetano.
According to the Fire Department, there were no reports of injuries. The corporation received only called to extinguish fire near Terminal Square Bible and the Campus II of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), where a bus was burned.
According to the PM, five vehicles of public transport were completely destroyed, three burned and vandalized two.

According to the PM, students set fire to a bank branch in Avenida Anhanguera, near the Square terminal Bible. They would have used bottles with flammable product, known as Molotov cocktail. The fire was quickly controlled.

Policiais militares e estudantes entraram em confronto na Praça da Bíblia, no Setor Leste Universitário. Segundo a PM, estudantes atearam fogo em ônibus e tentaram incendiar uma agência bancária.
No tumulto, 24 pessoas acabaram detidas por atos de vandalismo e desobediência. Desse total, 18 adultos foram levados para o 1º Distrito Policial (DP) e 6 menores foram encaminhados à Delegacia de Polícia de Apuração de Atos Infracionais (Depai).
“Eles estavam com paus, pedras, gasolina e coquetel molotov”, disse ao G1 o segundo o chefe da comunicação social da PM, o tenente-coronel Walter Caetano.
Segundo o Corpo de Bombeiros, não há informações de feridos. A corporação recebeu chamados apenas para apagar os incêndios nas proximidades do Terminal Praça da Bíblia e no Campus II da Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG), onde um ônibus foi queimado.
De acordo com a PM, cinco veículos do transporte coletivo ficaram completamente destruídos, sendo três incendiados e dois depredados.
O protesto começou por volta das 18h, na Praça Universitária, no Setor Universitário. De lá, os estudantes seguiram para o Terminal Praça da Bíblia, onde ocorreu o confronto. Os estudantes teriam jogado pedras e paus nos policiais. Homens da tropa de choque e a cavalaria da PM dispararam bombas de efeito moral e balas de borracha contra os manifestantes.
De acordo com a PM, os estudantes incendiaram uma agência bancária na Avenida Anhanguera, próximo ao terminal Praça da Bíblia. Eles teriam usado garrafas com produto inflamável, conhecidas como coquetel molotov. O fogo foi rapidamente controlado.
Do Terminal Praça da Bíblia, os manifestantes se dividiram. Um grupo desceu a Avenida Anhanguera em direção ao Terminal do Jardim Novo Mundo. Parte dos estudantes voltou para a Praça Universitária e terminou o protesto em frente à Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Federal de Goiás (UFG).
