Racist Who Harassed Black Photojournalist & Protesters Fired

The racist man, identified as John Pisone, who we reported on in our blog, “Racist Harasses Black Photojournalist & Anti-Fracking Grandparents at Rex Energy Protest,” was reportedly fired by his employer yesterday after hurling racial slurs and reactionary rhetoric

Although he was harassing folks who were protesting Rex Energy, he was apparently employed by MMC Land Management:

Today, we were disgusted to learn that one of MMC’s former employees used racial slurs and made racially charged…

Let this serve as a reminder to everyone that hate speech is not “free speech.” The man was fired within 24 hours of this video going viral:

Who’s unemployed now? Throughout the video you can hear the man harping on photojournalist Tom Jefferson and anti-fracking activists for allegedly not having a job. What a swift kick to the teeth that must have been – one day he’s out harassing people and shaming them for supposedly being unemployed, and the next day his sorry ass is canned.

Kudos to everyone who helped share this story and make it happen. John Pisone has apparently de-activated his Facebook account, although his photos are searchable on Google images.

The victim of this attack, Tom Jefferson, is a photojournalist with a focus on social justice and climate change. Click here to support his upcoming documentary “The Way We Live.”
