Several thousand have taken the streets of Luebeck, Germany to protest against the G7 foreign ministers summit.
An excerpt of a statement from the organizing group’s website Stop G7:
As the foreign ministers of the G7 countries (USA, Canada, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy and Japan) hold a summit. Whether they talk about tackling the austerity crisis or global trade agreements such as the TTIP or on the common foreign and security policy: Decisions are never made with the interests of the people affected in consideration, but always made to secure power, profit and influence.
We, on the other hand, CLEARLY state: You do not represent us! In our vision of a peaceful world in solidarity and with justice for all, there is no room for power brokers: such as the G7. We must push back hard against their power and influence to let democracy grow from the roots and over borders.
