Police Evicted & Destroyed 4th Precinct Shutdown Camp

At 3:45am this morning, Minneapolis Police violently evicted the #4thPrecintShutDown and tore apart the camp. The peaceful encampment has been in place for 18 days demanding the release of tapes showing police shooting of Jamar Clark, the appointment of a special prosecutor with no grand jury for Jamar Clark’s case and a safety plan to protect Minneapolis residents from continued police violence. A rally is scheduled for 4PM CST today at City Hall.

7 people were arrested during the early morning raid on the #4thPrecinctShutdown camp that has been in place since mid-November demanding answers in the death of Jamar Clark. Witnesses have consistently maintained that Clark was unarmed and shot in the head by police while handcuffed. Protests have been ongoing in Minneapolis demanding the release of police footage.

Police have been threatening to evict the encampment after white supremacists shot and injured 5 black lives matter activists on November 24. Despite the peaceful nature of the #4thPrecinctShutdown camp, police moved in and destroyed it late last night.

Unicorn Riot was livestreaming as the camp was evicted.
