Various organizations and sectors of society held a mass mobilization December 6 in the streets of Mexico City to demand the presentation with life of the 43 normalistas from Ayotzinapa who went missing in Iguala on September 26, 2014. 6DMX was the first mega march without the former head of the capital’s police who just resigned.
The Argentine forensic team confirmed the identity of Alexander Mora Valencia on December 6, one of the 43 missing normalista students from Ayotzinapa. Remains found in a dump in Cocula were determined to be a DNA match to Alexander. He was 21 years old.

Teachers from Oaxaca, Michoacan, Guerrero, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Zacatecas, Guanajuato among other states along with students from Politécnico, UNAM, UAM, various social organizations, trade unions and citizens all participated in the march that was led by parents of the missing normalistas from Ayotzinapa from Ángel de la Independencia to Monumento a la Revolución.
“We do not want one, do not want ten, we want the return of the 43″ was one of the slogans of the march.
Upon arriving at Monumento a la Revolución the parents of the normalistas said they will continue the search for the missing children, even if they lose their lives. In front of thousands of protesters gathered in the esplanade of the Monumento a la Revolución, Felipe de la Cruz, father of one of the missing normalistas, said that the identification of Alexander is not cause for sadness, but indignation and the demonstrations will continue until they locate the other 42 young students and imprison those responsible.
“Do not cry for Alexander. He knows that we will not rest until justice is done,” said De la Cruz. “There are 42 missing and want them alive. The murderer is still at large,” he added.
